Consultancy – To undertake a situational analysis on ageism the systemic failures around the world

  • Closing date 03/12/2024

HelpAge International is a global organization focused on improving the lives of older people through partnerships and advocacy. With a network of 199 members in 98 countries, HelpAge works to ensure the inclusion, dignity, and health of older people, particularly in lower- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Its 2030 strategy includes Global Initiatives addressing critical issues affecting older people, including systemic ageism.

Ageism and Global Initiatives: HelpAge has identified systemic ageism as a key area for action, viewing it as deeply embedded in societies, policies, and institutions. The organization is committed to addressing ageism at its root causes, including stereotyping and prejudice. In 2021, the WHO launched a global campaign against ageism, and HelpAge is an active partner in this effort.

HelpAge’s focus on ageism as a systemic issue aligns with its broader strategy of creating more inclusive societies for older people. It seeks to leverage its global network and collaborate with external stakeholders to challenge ageism, especially in LMICs.

Consultancy Overview: HelpAge is seeking a consultant to conduct a situational analysis on systemic ageism at the global level. This analysis will help the organization develop its Global Initiative on Ageism and identify opportunities for strategic engagement and collaboration.
