HelpAge International partners with over 170 organizations in more than 90 countries, supporting millions of older people to live dignified, healthy lives. The organization is at a key moment, addressing challenges like population ageing, climate change, and inequality. HelpAge is evolving to focus on localized programming, new partnerships, and thought leadership over the next three years.
The Business Development Department aims to diversify funding, build strategic donor relationships, and develop new income models. The department focuses on Europe and North America but seeks to expand globally and raise awareness about ageing, which is underfunded by governments and foundations.
The Business Development Adviser will build and maintain strategic relationships with major donors, focusing on trusts and foundations, and will develop engagement plans for securing strategic funding. This role involves designing donor engagement events, identifying new potential donors, and monitoring funding opportunities. The Adviser will collaborate with HelpAge’s technical teams and regional representatives to present core and flexible funding proposals. Additionally, they will enhance HelpAge’s profile through regular engagements, contribute to team capacity building, oversee grant communications, and coordinate with Supporting Members for donor relationship management, while setting and monitoring long-term funding objectives.
