Southeast Türkiye and Northern Syria were hit by a catastrophic earthquake that caused widespread destruction and despair. The disaster had a more severe impact on older people due to their limited mobility, chronic health conditions, and increased social isolation.

Our focus is on the survivors who are now faced with the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. We share their stories and the challenges they face.

We look at the humanitarian response of HelpAge International’s partner the Syrian Expatriate Medical Association (SEMA) who are dedicatedly working to provide survivors with shelter, food, and care.
