Older people stood up for their rights in Latin America
ADA activists across Latin America are taking a stand against age discrimination.
Last year, in Bolivia, older people marched through the cities to show their government that they are united in standing up for their rights.
And in Colombia and Ecuador, older campaigners met ministers and other decision makers to call for change.
They demanded to be respected and recognised by their governments instead of simply being ignored.
More needs to be done!
These amazing campaigning efforts really raised awareness of older people’s issues in Latin America. But more still needs to be done if we want to see real change that will actually improve the lives of older people here.
That’s why we want to make Age Demands Action 2010 even bigger and better than last year.
Older people refuse to be ignored!
