Beijing: 15 years older, but any wiser?


In 1995 the Beijing Platform for Action recognised age discrimination as one of the barriers to women’s empowerment and advancement.

In the week that marks International Women’s Day (8 March) HelpAge asks if Beijing has made a difference for older women around the world.

What have governments and other key players done to implement these actions? To what extent are older women and population ageing priorities for future action?
